We have a solid slate of college hoops action tonight, and I'm kicking off my CBB parlay by backing James Madison to keep things somewhat respectable against Kentucky. The Wildcats are the far superior team in this matchup, but how motivated are the Wildcats to win this game by nearly 30 points with a ranked matchup against fellow blue-blood Kansas on deck? JMU coach Preston Spradlin has a ton of shooters at his disposal this year, as they connected on 41% of their 34 attempts in a loss to Miami (OH) on Monday.
Rounding off today's NCAAB parlay, I'm taking the Under in Middle Tennessee vs Kansas, as I'm expecting a low-scoring affair in Lawrence on Friday. Kansas is extremely talented in the backcourt, but they're young. Can they shoot efficiently enough to surpass this game total, which has steadily risen since open? Will MTSU contribute enough scoring to push this one over? We don't think so.
Next in our college basketball parlay, we have a monster matchup between Michigan and UConn, and I believe the Wolverines can push the Huskies all the way. UConn and Michigan look a bit different this year after meeting in last season's national title game, but both teams benefit from the return of most of their backcourt production. The Huskies are deeper on paper, but the Wolverines have plenty of size to challenge UConn on the glass and around the rim. The Huskies need to shoot better than they did Monday in order to cover numbers like this against Quad-1 teams; I need to see it before I trust they can do it.
