Arkansas Razorbacks vs Michigan State Spartans Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 11/08/25

Following a comfortable win over Southern on Monday, John Calipari and the Arkansas Razorbacks travel up to East Lansing for a true road game at Michigan State. While it wasn’t as convincing as Arkansas’ win, Michigan State also prevailed in its first game of the season – though early returns point to Sparty struggling to shoot once again this season. Despite playing at home, the Spartans were just 6/21 from deep against Colgate on Monday. They also surrendered a ton of 3-point looks to Colgate, who connected on 11 of those 29 attempts. 

Michigan State is going to have a distinct gameplan again this year: dig in defensively and control the boards. Arkansas will adapt a similar philosophy with ample defenders and glass-crashers, but the ‘Hogs also want to have more of an offensive identity. After all, they project to play at a much faster pace than the Spartans, just like last year. Unfortunately for them, it’s going to be extremely difficult to speed up the Spartans on their home floor at the Breslin Center – a venue in which they do not lose very much. Given the amount of defensive stalwarts on both teams, as well as Michigan State’s desired slower-than-average pace of play and inconsistent to non-existent perimeter shooting, I see this game staying just under the current total by a couple possessions.
