Gonzaga Bulldogs vs Santa Clara Broncos Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 02/14/26

One of the best games of the weekend comes at the mid-major level, as we’ll see a battle in the WCC between the Gonzaga Bulldogs and Santa Clara Broncos to finish out Saturday’s card. These teams are certainly familiar with each other, but most of the country is likely not aware of just how well the Broncos have been playing this season. Santa Clara is 22-5 and currently sits inside the top 40 in both KenPom and Barttorvik, and the Broncos’ resume has them in the NCAA Tournament field in the projections of most bracketologists. However, a postseason appearance is far from a sure thing and the Broncos would love to pick up a massive win here as short home underdogs to not only build their tournament resume, but also extend their lead in the WCC standings and inch closer to a regular season title. While I do lean toward taking Santa Clara as a home ‘dog in this spot, I’m much more inclined to look at making a bet on the total on Saturday.

These teams met in Spokane last month, and we saw plenty of fireworks in that contest, as the Bulldogs put up 89 points in a double-digit victory at home. It wouldn’t shock me at all if Mark Few’s team puts forth a similarly dominant offensive performance this time out, especially since Santa Clara’s interior defense is the weakness of the team and Graham Ike is dominating the paint against WCC opponents. The Gonzaga big man put up 34 points and 11 rebounds in the first meeting, and the fact that the Zags were able to be so efficient while only making 6 shots from beyond the arc is certainly encouraging for their offensive output on Saturday. On the other side, Santa Clara is a top 30 offense nationally and the Broncos tallied 77 points on the road in the first meeting, despite shooting just 27% from 3-point range. It’s reasonable to bake in a bit of positive regression for Herb Sendek’s team, and the Broncos should look to push the pace and create extra possessions against a Bulldogs team that is still without All-WCC forward Braden Huff. This one could go either way, but I’m expecting a high-scoring affair on Saturday. This number feels slightly mispriced, so let’s take the over in Santa Clara.
