Indiana Hoosiers vs Marquette Golden Eagles Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 11/09/25

The Marquette Golden Eagles and the Indiana Hoosiers will meet in Chicago for a non-conference matchup. Marquette has played two games already this season and have blown out their opponent in each. Indiana beat Alabama A&M by 47 points in their first game under new head Darian DeVries. This game should be very evenly matched as the spread indicates but my best bet of the game is the under.

The total is currently set for 153.5 points, and I expect the total to stay under that. Marquette scored 100 points in their second game against Southern, but their offense is ranked just #66 at KenPom. The Golden Eagles shot just 20.8 percent from beyond the arc in their opening game against Albany and Indiana’s defense should be much better than a lesser opponent like Albany.

It is Darian DeVries first season as head coach at Indiana but at West Virginia last season his Mountaineers were great at guarding the three-point line. Their defense ranked #8 nationally in three-point percentage, so I do expect shots to come easy from beyond the arc for Marquette. Shaka Smart and Marquette had the #26 ranked defense at KenPom last season and bring back numerous players, so their defense should make it hard on Indiana as well.

The pace of this game adds to why I believe the under is the right play. DeVries is known for leading a slow-paced offense and that will limit both team’s overall possessions. His teams have ranked in the 200’s at KenPom in adjusted tempo every season since 2020, including a #331 ranking at West Virginia last year. Last season, the under cashed in 59.4 percent of Marquette’s games, so the under is the play here.
