Louisville vs Duke Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
Duke -7.5(-110)

The Louisville Cardinals will travel to Durham on Monday night for an ACC matchup against the Duke Blue Devils. It is part of “Big Monday” that is airing for the first time this season. Duke and Louisville were projected to finish #1 and #2 in the ACC preseason poll, and both teams received first-place votes. The Cardinals’ season has been derailed slightly by the injury of 5-star freshman Mikel Brown Jr., but he should be back for this big-time matchup. Brown will give Louisville a better chance, but I still believe Duke is the better team and will cover the spread.

The Blue Devils have lost just 1 game this season and have so many weapons offensively to throw at Louisville’s defense. National Player of the Year favorite Cameron Boozer leads this Duke unit — but Isaiah Evans and Patrick Ngongba II are averaging double-figures, as well. I expect the Duke offense to overwhelm a Louisville defense that is ranked outside the top 30 in adjusted defensive efficiency and struggles to defend without fouling. The Cardinals’ defense is ranked #158 in free-throw rate, while Duke’s offense is ranked #36. As such, Duke should win the battle at the foul line on Monday night. Let’s roll with the Devils to cover.

Louisville vs Duke prediction: Duke -7.5 (-110) available at time of publishing. Playable to -8.
