The Oklahoma Sooners will travel to Spokane on Saturday night to play a non-conference game against the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Both teams are 1-0 on the season following their blowout wins on Monday night. Gonzaga has won the past 3 H2H matchups by double-digits, and I predict a similar result this weekend. Gonzaga is currently -11 and I expect the Zags to cover that spread.

Gonzaga comes into this season with high expectations after missing the second weekend for the first time since 2014. The Bulldogs are currently ranked as the #8 team nationally at KenPom and are the clear favorites to win the West Coast Conference. They bring back one of the best front courts in the country in Braden Huff and Graham Ike. Huff and Ike averaged double-figures last season and should be able to have their way in this matchup.

Oklahoma is ranked just #57 at KenPom and probably doesn’t have enough firepower to keep this game within single-digits. The Sooners were one of the worst rebounding teams last season and will need to keep the Gonzaga big men off the glass. The Zags had 19 offensive rebounds in their first game against Texas Southern and I expect them to carry that momentum into game 2. I believe rebounding will be the difference in this one, so my expert pick is Gonzaga -11.
