Rider Broncs vs Houston Cougars Prediction, Odds and Picks for Thursday, 11/20/25

The Rider Broncs hit the road for Houston looking for better results than the first stop. Rider was dropped 99-65 at Texas as a 30-point underdog, and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) representative has lost all three games against Division I teams, falling to Virginia, Rutgers and Texas by at least 28 points, going 0-3 against the spread (ATS). Rider has really had difficulty scoring points, going 64.3 points per game (PPG), while shooting just 37.2 percent from the field, and just 23.2 percent from behind the 3-point line. Defensively, Rider really struggles, too, allowing 80.3 PPG, as it has been roughed up in those money games to start the season.

The Cougars passed their first test of the season in a neutral-site game against Auburn, winning 73-72, but they failed to cover as a 7.5-point favorite, going 1-3 ATS. The Over cashed against Auburn, but against three non-power conference teams, the Cougars allowed 57, 48 and 45 in three games against Lehigh, Towson and Oakland. The Broncs are definitely not a power team, and they’re going to struggle here. The 40-point number is big, and it’s tempting to play Rider catching the points, but we’ll go with the Under here, as undersized Rider won’t be able to generate much offense.
