College Football Week 7 Anytime TD Scorer Picks & Bets
College football Week 7 is upon us, headlined by a massive Saturday schedule that includes ESPN College Gameday in Provo, Utah for Notre Dame vs BYU. Also on the slate are Ohio State vs Indiana, Florida vs Texas, Alabama vs Tennessee, Missouri vs Ole Miss and Oklahoma State vs Houston.
Here are my best anytime touchdown scorer bets, and you can also check out our Week 7 best bets.
College Football Week 7 touchdown scorer bet: Drew Mestemaker, QB, Oklahoma State Over 1.5 passing TDs (-152)
Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing
It could be a shootout between Oklahoma State and Houston, and a lot of that would have to do with Mestemaker. He has a relatively favorable matchup against Houston’s defense, which struggles in the secondary (248.3 passing yards allowed per game on 7.3 yards per attempt). Mestemaker has tossed multiple touchdown passes in four consecutive contests, including five against Murray State and three at West Virginia’s expense. There is no reason why that streak can’t continue.
College Football Week 7 touchdown scorer bet: JV Gibson, WR, Cincinnati (+135)
Odds courtesy of Bet365 Sportsbook at time of publishing
Gibson must be relishing the opportunity to go up against West Virginia. The Mountaineers are third-to-last in all of college football in passing defense (297.0 yards per game allowed) and second-to-last in opponent yards per pass attempt (9.7). They have surrendered 14 touchdowns through the air while making just four interceptions. Gibson has found the endzone in three of his four games so far this season. Asking him to do so once again at WVU’s expense should not be too much.
College Football Week 7 touchdown scorer bet: Ty Clark III, RB, Wake Forest (-130)
Odds courtesy of Bet365 Sportsbook at time of publishing
Clark splits carries in Wake Forest’s backfield with Deuce Lawrence, but the former is more of a goal-line option (even though both guys have rushed for three touchdowns so far this year). After all, TC3 is 6’0’’ and 205 pounds, Lawrence is 5’7’’ and 195 pounds. Clark rushed just 21 combined times in the last two games, but they were blowout wins over Stanford and N.C. State. The last time the Demon Deacons were tested from start to finish, Clark got 21 carries against Louisville and scored twice during a 30-27 victory. Wake now faces Cal, which is absolutely awful against the run. The Bears are conceding 173.2 rushing yards per game on 4.9 yards per carry and have given up 13 TDs on the ground.
