Indiana Hoosiers vs Oregon Ducks Prediction, Odds and Picks for Saturday, 10/11/25
Indiana vs Oregon Pickswise Expert Predictions
The headline game of this loaded college football Week 7 slate on Saturday comes in the Big Ten, where the Indiana Hoosiers are set to take on the Oregon Ducks in a game between a couple of teams that have their sights set on a conference title, and much more. There is plenty on the line for both teams in this matchup, with the winner likely having the inside track to an appearance in the Big Ten title game, and a top 4 seed in the College Football Playoff as a result. Who will prevail at Autzen Stadium? It’s almost time to find out.
There’s a lot to like about both of these teams, but this game should start and end with the Oregon offense. After all, the Ducks have been an absolute machine on that side of the ball for the majority of the campaign. It’s been nearly a picture-perfect first half of the year for Dante Moore (75% completion, 14 touchdowns) and the Oregon offense to this point. Dakorien Moore looks like one of the better receivers in the country in his true freshman season, while Malik Benson and Gary Bryant Jr. have filled in nicely on the outside and continue to make plays. The Ducks have also been running the ball very effectively through the first month of the campaign (5th in EPA per rush), with a 4-headed monster of ‘backs that all provide something different to the offense. While Indiana’s defense has been a top 10 unit in the sport from a statistical perspective, the Hoosiers haven’t had to play anything like what they’ll see on Saturday. It could certainly be a wake-up call for this group.
As for the visitors, there’s no doubt that Indiana is an extremely well-coached unit on both sides of the ball, and there’s a reason why I was bullish on the Hoosiers’ chances of making the College Football Playoff heading into the campaign. Indiana’s offense is one that should be able to see success in this game, with Curt Cignetti’s group excelling at inside zone concepts in the running game. On the outside, Elijah Sarratt and Omar Cooper make up one of my favorite wide receiver duos in the nation, and they’ll go to work for Fernando Mendoza, who has registered 16 passing touchdowns on 124 attempts this season. However, this is the best defense he’ll have faced by a decent margin, and we just saw Indiana struggle against Iowa in a hostile road environment a week ago. Add in a tougher defensive front and an Oregon secondary that has been excellent to this point, and I don’t see the Hoosiers finishing nearly as many drives as they did against Illinois a few weeks ago. Let’s lay the points with the Ducks at home.
