James Madison Dukes vs Liberty Flames Prediction, Odds and Picks for Saturday, 09/20/25

James Madison hits the road for Williams Stadium in Lynchburg, and it is looking to rebound from a 28-14 loss at Louisville two weeks ago. The Dukes have likely been champing at the bit to get back on the field after the two-touchdown loss. JMU was able to hang on for the cover at some shops as a 15-point underdog, while pushing at others on a 14-point line. This will be the first time these teams meet on the gridiron as FBS teams. The most recent meeting was in a FCS First Round Playoff Game in Harrisonburg, and the Flames advanced with a 26-21 win on Nov. 29, 2014.

The Flames have struggled since the departure of dual-threat QB Kaidon Salter, dropping two of three games to open the season. The Flames have dropped back-to-back games at Jacksonville State and Bowling Green, both as a favorite, and that’s not exactly a gauntlet. Liberty’s lone win is a 28-7 win over Maine, an FCS team, back on Aug. 30. The Flames are just 0-3 against the spread (ATS) with the one outright victory.
