Kent State vs Oklahoma Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Kent State Golden Flashes are stocking up the coffers with big-money guarantee games this season, taking their lumps at Texas Tech (62-14) on Sept. 6, and at Florida State (66-10) on Sept. 20. The Over has cashed in each of the past three games, all losses to FBS teams, allowing at least 31 points, and an average of 59.7 points per game (PPG) in the span. Kent State is allowing 541.8 total yards, 285.5 passing yards and 256.3 rushing yards per game, all ranking 129th or worse in the country. The total yardage mark ranks 136th in the land.
Oklahoma could very well take care of the Over on its own. Keep in mind that QB John Mateer (thumb) is out due to injury, so QB Michael Hawkins Jr. will make the start. He has attempted just three passes so far, completing only one. While it’s the backup, he should be able to cut like a hot knife through butter against a bad Kent State team, racking up big yardage and big points. Mateer is also the leading rusher, so there will be more on the shoulder of RB Tory Blaylock, who has 179 rushing yards and three scores, while averaging 4.3 yards per game. Look for Blaylock to have a monster game.
Over 53.5 (-110) at time of publishing. Playable to 55.5.
