Louisiana Tech Bulldogs vs LSU Tigers Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/06/25
Louisiana Tech vs LSU Pickswise Expert Predictions
After defeating the Clemson Tigers in Week 1 on the road, the LSU Tigers have moved all the way up to 3rd in the AP Poll. LSU controlled the game with their defense, surrendering just 10 points and 262 yards of total offense. LSU’s opposing quarterback Cade Klubnik was left dazed and confused with exotic blitz packages and different looks all game long, completing only 50% of his passes against the Tiger’s defense. LSU’s quarterback Garrett Nussmeier was great in his first game of the season, throwing for 232 yards and a touchdown. Despite LSU only putting up 17 points, Nussmeier paced the offense and kept LSU ahead in this game in front of a hostile crowd. Nussmeier will get the opportunity this week to show his offensive talent at home against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs from Conference USA. LA Tech won their first game of the season 24-0 against SE Louisiana.
Defense may have powered LA Tech in their first game of the season, but they will not have similar success in Week 2 against one of the top offenses in the SEC. It was Nussmeier’s first year under head coach Brian Kelly in 2024, and Nussmeier produced, throwing for 4052 yards and 29 touchdowns. Now the senior quarterback is a Heisman-hopeful in 2025 and has big games ahead of him. With how tightly-contested game one was played, I believe Kelly will want to get his offense rolling in Week 2 and open the playbook. Given how good LSU’s defense looked, I don’t expect much to come out of the Bulldogs. LSU rolls.
