Old Dominion Monarchs vs Indiana Hoosiers Prediction, Odds and Picks for Saturday, 08/30/25
Old Dominion vs Indiana Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Old Dominion Monarchs enter Year No. 5 under head coach Ricky Rahne, and they’re still looking for a little bit of consistency. Such is life in this day and era of transfer portal and big-money promises for players who show anything at the lower level. Last season, Old Dominion used 3 different quarterbacks, and it needs to shore that up and find one regular guy. It might be QB Colton Joseph. The defense could be surprisingly effective, and it’s stunning that LB Jason Henderson, who has 167 tackles since 2022, didn’t go for greener pastures like so many are apt to do. It’s an offense and defense mostly comprised of hungry, overlooked portal and JUCO guys, though, and it will be messy early.
The Indiana Hoosiers made the College Football Playoffs last season before being dismissed by Notre Dame in the first round. Still, it was an amazing run under confident head coach Curt Cignetti. He wrangled former QB Fernando Mendoza to come to Bloomington via the transfer portal after tossing 3,004 yards last season for Cal. He doesn’t make a lot of mistakes, either. This Indiana team might not roll like it did in 2025, mainly due to a tough schedule, but that’s not the case in the opener. Expect the Hoosiers to start with a rout at The Rock on Saturday.
Old Dominion vs Indiana prediction: Indiana -23.5 (-110) at time of publishing. Playable to -24.
