Tulane vs Tulsa Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Tulane Green Wave roll into H.A. Chapman Stadium for an American Conference battle against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Saturday night. Tulane will be glad to put the non-conference schedule in the rear-view mirror, as it played three Power 4 teams, although it was 2-1 SU, spoiled only by a 45-10 loss to Ole Miss last weekend. It is just 2-2 against the spread (ATS), going 2-0 ATS at home, and 0-2 ATS on the road. The Green Wave had scored 23 or more points in the first three games before getting shut down by the Rebels, but look for the offense to return on Saturday in the conference opener.
For Tulsa, it squared its record at 2-2 with a 19-12 win at Oklahoma State, a game which was the final nail in the coffin of Mike Gundy in Stillwater. He was fired Tuesday. The Golden Hurricane have scored at least 19 points three times, including a 42-23 loss to Navy in the conference opener, but they have allowed 21 or fewer three times, too. The Under is 3-1 in four outings for Tulsa, and perhaps more importantly, 4-0 in the past four meetings in this series. We won’t necessarily have a defensive slog, but a total of 54 or more points seems a bit ambitious. Let’s go low on the total for this American Conference opener for the Green Wave.
Under 53.5 (-110) at time of publishing. Playable to 52.
