Michael Carrick is clinging on to his position in the Manchester United hotseat and the Red Devils may be able to claim a point from their trip to Stamford Bridge. United won both of last season’s league meetings and they could find the necessary improvement to snatch a point in London.

Bournemouth eased through to the EFL Cup quarterfinals with a 3-0 victory at home to Aston Villa and have won their last five games across all competitions. However, the Cherries could suffer a setback at home to Leeds, who are two points better off and better prepared after a free midweek.

Nottingham Forest wasted a lot of chances in last Friday's 1-1 draw at Ipswich, and that lack of offensive quality could contribute to a low-scoring outcome against Brentford in west London. Forest are solid at the back and their tactics could largely nullify their hosts, who are winless in four.

Manchester City needed penalties to overcome Brighton in the EFL Cup but they could have a more comfortable experience in their Premier League rematch. City rested key players, including Erling Haaland, on Wednesday and can see off a Seagulls side who have already lost away to Chelsea and Liverpool.

Coventry have slipped into the bottom three after successive defeats but they can win a key clash against Sunderland at the CBS Arena. The Sky Blues lost 1-0 to Fulham in a tight contest, but they look the likelier winners against Sunderland, who have taken one point from the last five EPL games.

Hull are hanging onto a top-half place in the EPL standings and can win for the first time since August when facing Ipswich at the MKM Stadium. Sergej Jakirovic's team is unbeaten at home and should like their chances against the Tractor Boys, who rode their luck in last Friday's 1-1 draw at home to Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham have kept three clean sheets in their last six Premier League games, and their powers of resistance could be key to defeating struggling Crystal Palace. Spurs won 2-0 at Chelsea last weekend and they can shut out an Eagles side who have lost their last two EPL matches without scoring.

Aston Villa crashed out of the EFL Cup with a 3-0 loss at Bournemouth in midweek, and they may have to settle for a point at home to Fulham. Unai Emery’s team has had a busy schedule to deal with and tiredness may play a part against the Cottagers, who have won their last two EPL matches.

Liverpool limited the minutes of some key players in Wednesday's EFL Cup success over Chelsea, and the in-form Reds can beat Arsenal in a massive game for both teams. Liverpool have the offensive prowess to see off the Gunners, who may struggle to get over their embarrassing defeat at Fleetwood.

Everton beat Newcastle 3-1 at home in the EFL Cup on Thursday and now the Magpies have a chance to gain swift revenge at St. James' Park. The match result is difficult to call, but the last four meetings have featured four or more goals and an action-packed Tyneside tussle looks likely.
