The Arizona Diamondbacks and Minnesota Twins wrap up a series on Sunday afternoon. These teams have split the first two games in this series, and both teams send a questionable and vulnerable starter to the mound on Sunday. The lineups should have the advantage over the pitching in this spot, and I think the best play in this game in the game total over 9.

Arizona will start journeyman Nabil Crismatt on Sunday. He is a soft-tosser, and Minnesota loves to stack up lefty and switch-hitting bats in these spots. With lefties hitting nearly .100 points better against Crismatt than righties, the platoon advantage should be significant. Minnesota will start Bailey Ober. The 6’9” Ober ought to be better than he is, but his 5.08 ERA has been an ongoing frustration for the Twins. Arizona, of course, typically hammers right-handed pitching with Perdomo, Marte, and Carroll at the top of the lineup, all hitting from the left side. Again, there is a platoon advantage. And just in case we don’t get over the total early, these two bullpens are bottom five units this season, so there should be plenty of opportunities late as well. The odds of both starters suppressing scoring seem low, and that’s probably what it would take to beat us here. Give me that over.
