Atlanta Braves vs Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 04/04/26

The Arizona Diamondbacks are hoping that the performance from Michael Soroka’s first start will continue after a great debut. The Canadian starter has some injury issues in his career, notably two torn achilles, but if he can stay healthy, he has top-of-the-rotation stuff. He struck out 10 batters over five innings in his first start, allowing four hits and no earned runs. There was some hard contact against him, but his swing-and-miss ability was back after some good moments last season.

The Atlanta Braves also got a great outing from Bryce Elder in his first start, allowing no earned runs over six innings against the Athletics. It was a good sign for the Braves, but they likely aren’t expecting that to continue for a pitcher who has struggled in his career. Elder at his worst bleeds hard contact, and while the Diamondbacks aren’t the most prolific offense, they have some core members of their lineup that could jump all over Elder quickly in this matchup.

The Braves are also a below-average offense, especially with Ronald Acuna Jr. struggling out of the gates. The Braves’ star is batting just .179 with and has no home runs to date, which isn’t too surprising given his power regression over the past few seasons. Elder could put the Braves in a hole early in this game if he doesn’t bring his best stuff, and Atlanta doesn’t have the talent through their lineup to mount a comeback.
