Atlanta Braves vs Chicago Cubs Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/03/25
Braves vs Cubs Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs wrap up their three-game set tonight, with Chicago looking to complete the sweep. Chicago is still in the race to win the NL Central, but these are the types of matchups the Cubs need to win if they want any shot at winning their division. Taking the mound for Chicago will be Cade Horton who enters with a 9-4 record and 2.92 ERA. Horton has been on fire, going 4-1 with a 1.44 ERA in his last five starts.
For the Braves, Bryce Elder gets the start, entering with a 5-9 record and 5.85 ERA. Elder is coming off one of his best starts of the season against the Phillies, but overall he’s struggled as of late, posting a 1-1 record with a 5.28 ERA over his last five starts. Offensively, the Cubs are averaging 5.5 runs per game over their last 10, slightly better than the Braves 4.7. Both bullpens have been utilized quite a bit in this series, but at the end of the day, the Cubs are hitting the ball way better than the Braves. Horton has also been significantly better on the mound than Elder, which isn’t great news for Braves fans. At the end of the day, look for the Cubs to complete the sweep at home, making them my best bet of the day.
