Atlanta Braves vs Miami Marlins Prediction, Odds and Picks for Saturday, 06/21/25

The Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins lock up for the second game of their series on Saturday. The Marlins took the opener, 6-2. I am looking for the Braves to even the series on Saturday. Prior to Friday’s loss, the Braves had started to look much more like the team we expected to contend for the division crown. Guys like Acuna and Strider are back and healthy, and they swept the Mets in the front half of the week. I feel much better about where the Braves are right now, as opposed to the Marlins, who are mostly a group of young guys still figuring things out. I’ll take the Braves to win on Saturday.

I don’t want to be in the Eury Perez market right now. As Perez works his way back from Tommy John a year ago, he has made 2 abbreviated starts this year. As expected, his control is not sharp, and his stuff just doesn’t look crisp. He’s had a soft runway so far, drawing starts against the Pirates and Nationals, but I suspect the Braves may hit him harder today. On the other side is Grant Holmes. Holmes looks more like a guy doing pro wrestling down at the local National Guard Amory than a professional pitcher, but dude can sling a baseball. He has 24 Ks in his last 12 innings of work, and he usually gives Atlanta 5 or 6 innings with 3 runs or less. If he does that Saturday, that should be good enough to win, and that’s how I am playing this one.
