Atlanta Braves vs Pittsburgh Pirates Prediction, Odds and Picks for Sunday, 05/11/25

It’s a Sunday showdown between the Atlanta Braves and Pittsburgh Pirates, with both teams aiming to clinch the series. The Braves managed to secure a win in Saturday’s matchup in extra innings, thanks to a strong performance from their bullpen. Taking the mound for Atlanta is Chris Sale, who had a slow start to the season, but the former Cy Young winner has found his groove in his last few starts, which is a promising sign for this Braves ball club. Over Sale’s last two starts, he allowed just two earned runs in 13.2 innings while striking out 20.

For the Pirates, Carmen Mlodzinski will get the start who’s 1-3 with a 6.16 ERA on the season. Mlodzinski has struggled to find his groove, and in his seven starts this season, he has yet to pitch past five innings. Pittsburgh’s bullpen has been heavily utilized the last few games, and it’s likely they’ll have to rely on their bullpen yet again early in this matchup. The Braves have a significant advantage on the mound in the series finale, and Sale shouldn’t have too much of an issue getting outs against this Pirates team. Overall, the Braves have far more talent in their lineup than the Pirates, which is why I think Atlanta will secure the series win on Sunday, making them my best bet before they make their trip back home.
