Baltimore Orioles vs Chicago White Sox Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 04/07/26

It hasn’t been the greatest start for either the Baltimore Orioles or the Chicago White Sox, but a recent three-game sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays has the White Sox feeling like they can beat any team in the American League. While from the outside looking in, those wins look massive, the Blue Jays largely gave those games away with non-existent offense and poor defense. The Orioles series feels like a great time to bet against the White Sox when their value is at its highest, as we saw on Monday when Baltimore escaped with a 2-1 victory.

The Orioles have a massive pitching advantage in this game, as they send Trevor Rogers to the mound with his 2-0 start to the season. Rogers has been lights out in his Baltimore debut, allowing just two earned runs and nine hits over 13 innings, grabbing two solid victories over the Minnesota Twins and Texas Rangers. While neither of those offenses is a world-beater, the White Sox offense could be even worse, which gives me some confidence in the right-hander.

The White Sox counter with Shane Smith, who has an equally unimpressive 0-2 record, allowing 10 earned runs over just 4.2 innings in his two starts. While the White Sox gave him a quick pull in his first start against the Milwaukee Brewers, they left him in to face the music against the Miami Marlins, allowing eight hits and seven earned runs in just three innings. If Baltimore gets to Smith early, they walk to a win in this matchup.
