The Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays get back to business on Saturday afternoon, after the Jays took the series opener by a score of 6-1. The Orioles have been hot lately, winning 8 of their last 10. They have done most of the damage with the bats, as their young lineup is healthy and hitting well. The Blue Jays are continuing to hold on to both the AL East lead and the top overall seed in the AL, and they too have done most of the work with their lineup. I look for both offenses to keep doing the heavy lifting on Saturday, and that takes me to the game total over 8.5.

Neither starting pitcher is all that reliable right now. Tomoyuki Sugano will go for Baltimore, but he has had 2 consecutive short outings (the most recent one because he took a comebacker off the foot). He seems to be struggling down the stretch. The Blue Jays will look to Max Scherzer, who has given up 4 runs in 3 consecutive starts. So we have two vulnerable starters facing two lineups that have been hot for a while now, and that looks like a good recipe for scoring, if you ask me. I’ll take the over.
