Boston Red Sox vs New York Yankees Prediction, Odds and Picks for Sunday, 06/08/25

It’s time for Sunday Night Baseball, as the New York Yankees look to secure a series win against the division-rivals Boston Red Sox. Both teams have come out swinging in this series, with each scoring 16 runs — and we could see that same type of offensive production in today’s matchup. Boston’s offense is one of the hottest hitting teams right now, and in its last 6 games it sits first in the league in runs per game at 6.5 and OPS at .826. For the Yankees, they are averaging 5 runs per game in their last 6 with a .758 OPS. 

Taking the mound for the Red Sox will be Hunter Dobbins, who is 2-1 with a 4.06 ERA. Dobbins isn’t used to pitching on the road as the majority of his starts are at home, and in his last road start he went 3.0 innings against the Brewers while giving up 2 earned runs. For the Yankees, Carlos Rodon will get the start. He is 8-3 with a 2.49 ERA. In his career Rodon is 4-4 with a 3.83 ERA against Boston in 9 starts. Both teams have used their bullpens quite a bit over the last 3 days, but Rodon is able to eat up innings when he takes the mound and I think that’ll be the biggest difference maker today. The Yankees have the better offense and pitching in this matchup, which is why I’m expecting them to take care of business on Sunday night.
