The Boston Red Sox will kick open a pivotal three-game series against the Rays, as they hope to hang on to the final AL Wild Card spot. Taking the mound for the Red Sox will be the left-hander, Garrett Crochet, who enters with a 16-5 record and a 2.63 ERA. Crochet has been the best pitcher in this Red Sox rotation and he’ll look to dominate the Rays for the second time this season. 

For the Rays, they’ll counter with Drew Rasmussen who enters with a 10-5 record and a 2.74 ERA. While Rasmussen has been solid on the mound for Tampa Bay, the Rays haven’t been able to provide him with the run support he needs to pick up a win. Offensively, the Rays are averaging 3.5 runs per game in their last 10, where the Red Sox are averaging slightly better at 4.3. At the end of the day, the Red Sox have a decent advantage with Crochet on the mound, and this is a game they can’t afford to lose. Look for the Red Sox to rally behind Crochet and beat the Rays, making them my best bet of the day.
