Boston Red Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/23/25
Red Sox vs Blue Jays Pickswise Expert Predictions
There’s plenty on the line as the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays open a pivotal three-game series. Toronto enters with a two-game lead in the AL East, while Boston clings to a one-game lead in the AL Wild Card standings. Neither team can afford to be swept in this series, and as both teams will look to give it their all in this matchup, but I’m siding with the away team in this one – and here’s why.
Lucas Giolito is expected to get the start for Boston, entering this matchup with a 10-4 record and a 3.46 ERA. While he struggled in his last start against the A’s, he’s 2-2 with a 2.48 ERA in his last five starts. For the Blue Jays, Kevin Gausman will get the nod, entering with a 10-10 record and a 3.38 ERA. Gausman has been terrific as of late, going 2-1 with a 1.75 ERA in their last five starts. Offensively, the Blue Jays are averaging 4.1 runs per game compared to the Red Sox 4.3. Boston knows how important this game is to them and Gausman is 9-10 with a 4.18 ERA in his career against the Red Sox. Look for Boston to find a way to steal one on the road and keep their playoff hopes alive.
