Chicago Cubs vs Atlanta Braves Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/10/25
Cubs vs Braves Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves will play their series finale on Wednesday after splitting the first two games in the series. The Braves, who were riddled by injuries all season, are mostly just running out the clock and trying to play a little spoiler along the way. The Cubs are comfortably in control of a wildcard slot, but mostly because of a strong first half. They have played middling baseball over the last month or so, and some notable injuries have slowed them down. They finally gave in and put Kyle Tucker on the IL the other day, and his absence weakens this lineup considerably. On Wednesday, I like the Braves, and I am playing them on the money line. The price isn’t great, but it’s probably the right play regardless.
We have a couple of older and oft-injured pitchers on the mound. Jameson Taillon returns for the Cubs after missing a couple of weeks with a groin injury. He is just a league-average guy really, but he was throwing well before his brief IL stint. Chris Sale is on the other side. Sale will be making his third start since returning from injury. He has been a quality start machine all season though, and it would be surprising if he didn’t turn in another great start tonight. The last time he allowed more than 1 earned run in a start was May 11. On Wednesday, I am basically backing Sale and leaning into a stalling Cubs offense.
