Chicago White Sox vs New York Yankees Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/24/25

The New York Yankees clinched a playoff berth last night with a 3-2 win over the Chicago White Sox, but their work isn’t done yet. Sitting just one game behind the Toronto Blue Jays, New York is hoping to secure another AL East title. To help with that, the Yankees will send their ace, Max Fried to the mound, entering with a 18-5 record and a 2.92 ERA. Fried has been dominant lately, going 5-0 in his last five starts, posting a 1.89 ERA with 34 strikeouts. 

For the White Sox, they’ll counter with Tyler Alexander who enters with a 5-14 record and a 5.13 ERA. Alexander has mainly worked out of the bullpen this season and this will be his sixth start of the year. I don’t expect the White Sox to get a lot of innings out of Alexander in this matchup, which means they’ll have to turn to their bullpen that holds a 4.05 ERA. New York has a significant advantage on the mound this afternoon with Fried, but they also have the advantage offensively where they’re averaging 5.4 runs per game in their last 10 games compared to the White Sox 2.3. Look for New York to roll in this matchup in hopes to gain another game in the AL East standings.
