We head to Kauffman Stadium on Wednesday night for a Cincinnati Reds vs Kansas City Royals prediction. The Reds have won the first 2 games in the series, 7-4 and 7-2. The Royals are trying to tread water right now with half their starting rotation on the IL, and they need to avoid the sweep on Wednesday. It will be a tough task, as the Reds have their best pitcher on the mound in Hunter Greene. The Reds are road favorites here, but I like the Royals, especially at the current price.

The Reds have scored 6 or more runs in 5 straight games. For this super streaky offense, that probably means they are about to hit an ugly and irrational scoring drought soon. Hunter Greene will be pitching, but he is only making his second start since returning from the IL, and his first start was only 4 innings and 83 pitches. He was effective enough, but there is a threat of another short outing here. He will face Noah Cameron. Cameron is a soft-tossing lefty who, at least on paper, shouldn’t be very good, but he is succeeding anyway. He has made 3 starts so far, all of them pushing into the 7th inning, and none of them allowing more than a single run. Is that sustainable? I wouldn’t think so. But the Reds are due for some regression. I think the Royals find a way to get it done in the late innings Wednesday.

Reds vs Royals prediction: Royals ML (+100) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
