That is slightly misleading considering he has only pitched in one game this season. In it he gave up 5 hits and 1 run in just 3.1 innings to the Kansas City Royals. This is concerning because the Royals bats have not been great this season. He may struggle against a rested Reds lineup.

Outside of the starters, the hitting statistics for these teams are similar. The main difference is that the Reds lead the Mets slightly in batting average, runs scored and total hits. If we look a little deeper, we can also see that New York’s bullpen has given up a total of 335 hits to Cincinnati’s 286 hits allowed. I think that the Mets’ bullpen taking a dive as the season goes on will be the biggest worry in this one. With Manea not having much experience this year, he may get pulled early — leading to the Mets relying on a struggling bullpen. I trust Cincy’s bats to do enough to get the win today.
