Cincinnati Reds vs The Athletics Prediction, Odds and Picks for Friday, 09/12/25

The Cincinnati Reds are still in the hunt for a playoff berth, and this upcoming 3-game series against the Athletics is one they can’t afford to lose. The Reds have won two in a row, and tonight, they’ll hand the ball over to Brady Singer, entering with a 13-9 record and a 3.98 ERA. Singer has been dominant in his last few starts, going 4-0 with a 1.80 ERA in his last 5 starts. 

For the A’s, J.T. Ginn will get the nod, entering with a 3-6 record and a 4.95 ERA. Ginn has struggled as of late, going 1-2 with a 6.26 ERA in his last 5 starts. While the A’s are out of the playoff picture, this young team is eager to spoil another team’s hopes and dreams of making the post season. Offensively, both teams are evenly matched with the A’s averaging 5.4 runs per game in their last 10 compared to the Reds 5.2. At the end of the day, this game is going to come down to pitching, and I like Singer a lot more than I do Ginn, which is why I’ll be backing the Reds to win this series opener, making them my best bet of the day.
