Cleveland Guardians vs Boston Red Sox Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/03/25

After last night’s slugfest, the Cleveland Guardians and Boston Red Sox will close out their three-game series tonight. Boston has taken the first 2 games, and they’ll turn to the left-hander Brennan Bernardino for tonight’s matchup, who’ll be making his third start of the season. Most of Bernardino’s work has come out of the bullpen, holding a 4-2 record and 3.08 ERA.  

For the Guardians, Joey Cantillo takes the mound with a 3-3 record and 3.93 ERA. Cantillo has pitched well in his last two starts, but unfortunately for Cantillo, this Red Sox team loves hitting lefties, batting .262 against them this season. For Boston, this shapes up as more of a bullpen game with Bernardino unlikely to go more than 2 innings. The Red Sox should have Jordan Hicks, Greg Weissert, Justin Wilson, and Steven Matz available for tonight’s matchup out of the pen. Despite the Guardians’ offense coming to life in this series, the Red Sox are still the better team. Look for this Red Sox offense to stay red hot and complete the sweep, making them my best bet of the day.
