Cleveland Guardians vs Chicago White Sox Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 08/08/25

The Cleveland Guardians and Chicago White Sox begin a new series with Tanner Bibee (4.51 ERA, 1.26 WHIP) on the bump for the visitors and Aaron Civale (3.99 ERA, 1.26 WHIP) getting the start for Chicago. Civale has been on a tear; the right-handed pitcher hasn’t surrendered a single earned runs in his last three starts across 17.1 innings pitched. While Bibee hasn’t exactly had the same fortune, his xERA of 3.66 suggests he is set for slight positive regression, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that came against this White Sox lineup.

Chicago’s bats have been improved as of late, but still fall bottom-5 in wRC+ and rank dead last in both BA and wOBA when facing right-handed pitchers like Bibee. The Cleveland offense hasn’t been much better in the same split, also falling in the bottom-5 of all three aforementioned categories. With all things considered, I’m fading both offenses in this spot and will take the under.
