Rockies vs Padres Pickswise Expert Predictions

Money Line Pick
SD Padres Win(-165)

The Colorado Rockies play the San Diego Padres on Saturday night after the Padres walked it off with a 3-run homer from Gavin Sheets in the 9th. Sheets is carrying this offense right now, especially with Tatis, Merrill, and Machado all hitting under .200 to start the season. Given those offensive struggles, we are getting a relatively low price on the Padres at home. The Rockies are still not a good team, so let’s take advantage of them while their price is manageable. I’ll take the Padres on the Money Line.

Good luck with this pitching matchup. Ryan Feltner will start for Colorado, and as is the case with most Rockies starters most years, I’m not sure he would be in the rotation for any other team. He will face ex-Rocky German Marquez. Marquez is a respectable arm hoping to reinvent himself after leaving Coors Field. Neither guy is great, and neither works deep into games, so a lot of this one falls back to the bullpens. That is the strength of this San Diego team, although the Rockies have pitched oddly well in the late innings thus far. Still, the Padres should have the advantage in every area of this game, so I am taking them to win.

Rockies vs Padres Prediction: Padres ML (-165) available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number.
