Now their offense has sprung back to life, averaging 8.5 runs per game over their last 4. As for the Phillies, they are averaging 5.5 runs per game over their last 12 and look to rebound from a tough series loss against the Chicago White Sox.

Taking the mound for the Phillies will be left-hander Ranger Suarez, who enters with an 8-4 record and 2.59 ERA. For the Tigers, Jack Flaherty will get the nod. He is 6-10 with a 4.51 ERA. In Flaherty’s last start he managed to pick up his first win since June 6, tossing 6.0 strong innings against the Blue Jays. Suarez has been one of the more reliable arms for the Phillies, but we have seen him struggle in a few of his starts this season. That could spell trouble for Suarez as he’s set to face a Detroit lineup that loves hitting lefties — batting .265 against them, best in the majors. The Tigers are loaded with talent and it looks like they have shaken off whatever funk they were in to start the second half. Look for Detroit to find a way to get it done behind Flaherty.
