The Houston Astros exploded for 11 runs last night against the Braves, and today, they’ll look to keep their offense going in hopes to regain the lead in the AL West. Taking the mound for the Astros will be Hunter Brown who enters with a 11-7 record and a 2.25 ERA. For the Braves, Bryce Elder will get the start, entering with a 7-9 record and a 5.35 ERA. 

The Astros should have the edge on the mound with Brown, but you shouldn’t overlook Elder’s recent performance. In Elder’s last four starts, he’s 2-0 with a 1.37 ERA. Offensively, the Astros are averaging 4.6 runs per game in their last 10 compared to the Braves 3.2. Neither team has played well in the month of September, with the Astros going 5-6 and the Braves are 3-7. At the end of the day, the Astros are fighting for a playoff spot, the Braves are not. Look for Brown and this Astros team to find a way to get it done, making them my best bet of the day.
