Los Angeles Angels vs Texas Rangers Prediction, Odds and Picks for Monday, 08/25/25

If you are looking for an underdog pick on Monday, the Los Angeles Angels vs the Texas Rangers might be a good place to start. The Rangers are heavily favored at home, especially coming off a weekend sweep of the Guardians in which they allowed very little scoring. The Angels, by contrast, were just swept by the Cubs, and they did very little scoring themselves. But baseball is a funny game, and those sorts of trends often rebound or regress back to the mean quickly, and when it comes to this particular matchup, I can see a direct path for the Angels to take this one. So given the generous odds, I am recommending the Angels on the Money Line.

The pitching matchup is a major reason this line is where it is, as it is Jose Soriano vs Jacob deGrom. Obviously, we should favor deGrom here, right? Well, deGrom had his previous start skipped because of shoulder discomfort, and the Angels got him for 5 runs, including 2 homers, just a month ago. As for Soriano, the fireballer has posted rough starts in 2 of his last 3 outings, but when he saw the Rangers a month ago, it was a solid 7 innings, allowing only 1 earned run and fanning 7. Again, I can see a path here, and this game should probably be closer to a toss-up than it is. I’m a sucker for chasing plus money sometimes, and I am going to do it here too. Give me the Halos in this one.
