Dodgers vs Pirates Pickswise Expert Predictions

Los Angeles Dodgers
Run Line Pick
PIT Pirates +1.5(-110)

After a rough series against the Diamondbacks, the Los Angeles Dodgers will look to bounce back as they open a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Taking the mound for the Dodgers will be the left-hander, Clayton Kershaw who enters with a 9-2 record and 3.06 ERA. Kershaw has won five last starts, and in that span, he holds a 1.88 ERA and has recorded 19 strikeouts in 28.2 innings pitched.

For the Pirates, Carmen Mlodzinski will get the start, entering with a 3-7 record and 3.86 ERA. This will be his 12th start of the year, as most of his work has come out of the bullpen. The Pirates had yesterday off, so their bullpen should be fully rested heading into tonight’s matchup. Over the last 10 days, this Dodgers offense has struggled, averaging just 4.3 runs per game. The Pirates have been slightly better, averaging 5.1 runs per game in that same span. Not only are the Pirates outscoring the Dodgers in their last 10 games, they hold a 2.19 team ERA in their last 10 games compared to the Dodgers 3.17 ERA. The Pirates are playing some of their best baseball all season, and there’s value in taking them at the run line, as I expect them to keep this game close given the Dodgers recent struggles.

Dodgers vs Pirates prediction: Pirates +1.5 (-110) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
