Los Angeles Dodgers vs San Francisco Giants Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/12/25

The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants will square off this weekend by the Bay, and with both teams in the midst of battles for playoff spots. The Dodgers are holding on to a slim lead over the Padres for the division lead, while the Giants sit only 1.5 games back of the final wild card spot. The Dodgers have won 4 in a row, albeit 3 of those were against the Rockies. The Giants just took 2 of 3 in Arizona. The weekend should be an interesting one, and it gets going with a typical late-season night in SF, one where the temps are cool and the wind is blowing at nearly 20 mph. My play in this game is to back the Dodgers on the Money Line.

On the mound, it will be Justin Verlander vs Yoshi Yamamoto. Yamamoto is continuing to have a fantastic season, with an ERA sitting at 2.72. He has seen the Giants twice this season, once was a loss and the other was 7 shutout innings. None of the Giants have had a ton of success against him though, so there is no reason to expect anything other than his usual strong outing. On the other side, Verlander has managed to miss the Dodgers all season, and oddly enough, only Ohtani and Betts have very many career at-bats against him, neither with much success. The Giants have been running hot on offense lately, but as the season nears the end, the Dodgers are playing well, and it is just hard to bet against them in this spot. I’ll go with Yamamoto and the Dodgers.
