Los Angeles Dodgers vs Washington Nationals Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 04/04/26

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ offense exploded against the Washington Nationals on Friday, putting up 13 runs on 16 hits. They now lead the league with 12 home runs while averaging 5.1 runs per game. The Nationals also showed life at the plate, scoring 6 runs on 11 hits, but their pitching continues to be a concern. Even so, Washington has been one of the more productive offenses early on, averaging 6.3 runs per game. The Dodgers will send Tyler Glasnow to the mound who pitched well in his last start, allowing two earned runs on four hits in six innings pitched. For the Nationals, Jake Irvin will get the nod, who enters with a 1-0 record and a 3.60 ERA. 

Shohei Ohtani finally broke out on Friday, going 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBIS after starting the season just 3-for-16. He’s also had success against Irvin, going 4-for-11 in his career, which puts him in a strong spot to build on Friday’s performance. While Glasnow has struggled against the Nationals in his career (6.49 ERA), Irvin hasn’t fared much better against the Dodgers (4.64 ERA). With both offenses producing at a high level and some uncertainty surrounding the starting pitching, this sets up well for another high-scoring game. The Dodgers are heavy favorites, and rightfully so, but both lineups are capable of putting up runs. Because of that, the over is the play here.
