Miami Marlins vs Detroit Tigers Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 04/11/26

It has been a bit of a bizarro world for the Miami Marlins and Detroit Tigers to start this season, as the Marlins find themselves near the top of the National League East and the Tigers are at the bottom of the American League Central after their playoff appearance last season. It is only early, and both teams’ fortunes could change pretty quickly by the time we get to the heart of summer, but it gives us some things to think about for Saturday afternoon.

Keider Montero righted the ship for the Tigers on Friday evening against the Marlins, pitching a six-inning gem that led to the bullpen taking it the rest of the way for a 2-0 shutout victory. The Tigers might not be quite as confident in their starter on Saturday afternoon, as Casey Mize allowed seven hits and five earned runs in his most recent start. Mize had a great outing in his first start of the season, which makes it hard to know which version of him is going to show up against the Marlins, who scored 15 runs in two games before the shutout loss.

One of the best pitcher names in baseball takes the mound for the Marlins, as Janson Junk makes his third start of the season after two good outings where he allowed just two earned runs. For as good as Junk has been with his 3.09 ERA, he has actually been better than that with a 2.47 xERA.

With Junk on the mound and the uncertainty of Mize, we’ll take the Marlins to bounce back for a victory after a disappointing loss Friday.
