The Miami Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays played a wild slugfest on Saturday. The Marlins eventually won 11-10, and both teams burned up most of the bullpen in the process. On Friday, Tampa Bay prevailed 4-3. Both teams are on a consistent trend of 1-run ballgames, too, as each squad has now played 4 1-run games in a row. It has been pretty common for these teams all season, too, and mostly because neither team is an offensive powerhouse by any means. That is my angle on Sunday, too, and I love that we can get even money on Miami at +1.5. I’ll take Miami on the underdog side of the run line.

We have an obvious pitching mismatch on our hands. Tampa Bay will start Drew Rasmussen, who is riding a streak of 4 consecutive starts without yielding a run, and one of those was against the Marlins. On the other side, the Fish will be bullpenning this game. All logic says the Rays will win this one in a landslide, but I think this one smells like a trap. Tampa Bay may win, but a 3-2 or 1-0 win is very much in play. Given how often these 2 teams play tight games, a good price on the run line sounds like a good play to me. Give me the Marlins +1.5.
