Milwaukee Brewers vs Chicago Cubs Prediction, Odds and Picks for Wednesday, 06/18/25

After yesterday’s matchup was postponed, the Brewers and Cubs do battle here on Thursday featuring the same starting pitchers. Milwaukee is sending out 23-year-old Jacob Misiorowski for his second MLB start of his career after tossing 5.0 hitless and scoreless innings with 5 strikeouts in his debut. The righty has heat; he threw more pitches over 100 mph in the first inning of his debut than the Brewers’ entire franchise had throughout the entirety of the Statcast era. He’s got solid stuff, and faces a Cubs lineup that’s been out of form. Over the long haul of the season, Chicago ranks top-5 in wRC+ against righties, though lately those figures have taken a significant hit. The Brewers rank bottom-5 in baseball over the last 14 days in wRC+, BA and wOBA.

The Brewers’ offense hasn’t been much better, still falling in the bottom-10 of each of the aforementioned categories over the last two weeks. Jameson Taillon (3.48 ERA, 0.98 WHIP) gets the start and should have no problems keeping the Milwaukee offense quiet. Taillon has recorded a quality start in 8 of his last 9 appearances and has been even stronger when pitching at home. With all things considered, I’m backing both pitching staffs in this matchup and will take the under.
