Brewers vs Dodgers Pickswise Expert Predictions
The NLCS heads to Los Angeles as the Dodgers hold a 2-0 lead over the Brewers. The Brewers held their own against the Dodgers during the regular season, but in the first two games of this series, it has been the Dodgers’ starting pitchers that have dominated. Snell threw 8 nearly perfect innings in Game 1, and then Yamamoto tossed a complete game in Game 2. The unspoken advantage there is that the Dodger bullpen has not really been exposed to the Brewers at all yet. That is not true for the Brewers, who have already used all of their best arms, and most of them twice. That will be a compounding problem throughout this series, and I am looking for the Dodgers to win Game 3, probably comfortably. I will take the Dodgers -1.5.
The pitching matchup will be Jose Quintana vs Tyler Glasnow. Quintana came off the IL to make one brief start in the divisional series, where he lasted 49 pitches and 3 innings. I do not expect him to jump up much higher in the pitch count in this situation, which again brings the Milwaukee bullpen into the picture. Glasnow made an odd relief appearance in the divisional series, then started a game and looked great. I have a really hard time finding a way to make the case for the Brewers with this pitching matchup and the tremendous bullpen advantage that LA now has. The Dodgers should win, and they probably win by more than 1.
Brewers vs Dodgers Prediction: Dodgers -1.5 (+110) available at the time of publication. Playable at that number.
