Brewers vs Mets Pickswise Expert Predictions
After a rainout on Tuesday, the Milwaukee Brewers and New York Mets will play a doubleheader on Wednesday. The back half of that twin bill ought to go the way of the Brewers, although we should always add the caution that whatever happens in the first game (injuries, key players sitting one of the games, bullpen usage) has real impact on the second game. Still, it is Misiorowski Magic time for the Brewers, and I am looking to ride the hot hand here. This kid can pitch on the big stage in New York, and my Brewers vs Mets pick is the Brewers on the Money Line.
Misiorowski is off to a tremendous start to his young career. He is virtually unhittable, and that is not an accident. He is a fireballer with a varied pitch arsenal, and he’s just flat-out hard to hit. He will face Blake Tidwell, who is taking the place of the injured Griffin Canning in the rotation. Tidwell has some upside, but we haven’t seen it yet at the big league level. He was called up over the weekend, worked out of the bullpen, and got blasted. Based solely on starting pitching alone, it would be surprising if either Tidwell locks down the Brewers or Mis gets hit very hard in the 5 or so innings he is allowed to work. We have to allow for some bullpen mishaps in a doubleheader, but this one looks like a Brewers advantage all the way.
