Milwaukee Brewers vs San Diego Padres Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/22/25

The Milwaukee Brewers and San Diego Padres face off in the home stretch of the 162-game MLB season with a pair of quality pitchers taking the bump. Freddy Peralta (2.65 ERA, 1.07 WHIP) gets the start for the visitors while Nick Pivetta (2.81 ERA, 0.97 WHIP) gets the start for San Diego. Both pitchers fall in the 96th percentile or better in pitching run value and have been in excellent form as of late. Pivetta, for example, has recorded 12 quality starts amongst his most recent 15 appearances while Peralta has some of the better underlying lumbers in the league with a 3.31 xERA and .210 xBA, both falling in the 78th percentile and better.

The quality doesn’t take much of a dip when the starters are pulled as both squads boast quality bullpens; San Diego’s ‘pen for example has the best combined ERA (3.08) in the league.
