Mets vs Braves Pickswise Expert Predictions

New York Mets
Money Line Pick
NY Mets Win(+100)

The New York Mets travel south to face the Atlanta Braves this weekend. The Friday game is projected to have a lot of weather issues, so be mindful of that before you lock in any bets on this game, as there is a very real threat of a PPD or a delay to mess everything up. The Mets have been struggling lately, even losing 2 of 3 to the Nationals this week, and they are clinging to the final playoff spot by only half a game over the Reds. The Braves, meanwhile, are just riding out the season, but they have won 10 of their last 12, including a crushing sweep of the Mets. Braves fans love spoiling the Mets more than anything. But this is a spot where the Mets ought to win, and that is how I am playing it. Currently, the Mets ML is even money.

The main reason I like the Mets tonight is Nolan McLean. The Mets’ top pitching prospect was great in his debut. He threw 5.1 innings against the Mariners, allowing only 2 hits and no runs, while striking out 8. He needs to clean up the control, walking 4 in that game, but I like his chances of success against the Braves. Atlanta will throw Joey Wentz. Wentz has been good for the Braves, and they have won his last couple of starts. He is not overpowering, but he does a good job of limiting hard contact. In the end though, I like McLean, and I think he makes the desperate Mets feel like they have a chance, and that matters this time of year. They can’t let the Braves single-handedly torpedo their playoff chances. Give me the Mets.

Mets vs Braves Prediction: Mets ML (+100) available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number.
