New York Mets vs Colorado Rockies Prediction, Odds and Picks for Sunday, 06/08/25

The New York Mets face off against the Colorado Rockies for their final H2H meeting of the season. So far the Mets have swept the Rockies and will be looking to take this sixth encounter. On the mound it’s Tylor Megill of the Mets and Chase Dollander of the Rockies. Megill has had an up and down season and currently has an ERA of 3.77 with a 4-4 record. In recent form he has given up 4+ runs in 4 of his last 6 starts. The benefit for the Mets is that these games were against the New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers. Those are 4 of the hitting powerhouses in the MLB this year. Megill should not face those same struggles against a Rockies team that rank dead last in runs (199) and batting average (.218). Given these numbers, I do not see the Rockies scoring a ton of runs in today’s game.

Dollander has been good in his last 3 starts, giving up 5 earned runs in 13.2 innings. The issue is that all of those games were away from Colorado. At home he currently holds an ERA of 8.66, giving up 17 earned runs in 17.2 innings. This is not a winning recipe against a Mets team that has 22 hits and 12 runs over the past 2 days. To make matters worse for the Rockies, the Mets’ bullpen has an ERA of 2.85 on the year. Given the steep line in this game, I am not willing to take the risk on the money line or run line. Looking at the over/under, I believe that the line is elevated due to the elevation in Colorado. I am taking the under in this one, as I do not suspect the Rockies will score enough — and hopefully Dollander can travel back to Colorado with some of his current form. Under 11 is the play.
