New York Yankees vs Chicago White Sox Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 08/29/25

The Yankees did exactly what they needed to last night, taking care of business against a much weaker Chicago White Sox team. Anthony Volpe finally strung together a pair of hits, going 2-for-3 with an RBI, and the Yankees are hoping that marks the start of an upswing after his 8-for-72 skid. Tonight, the Yankees will send the left-hander Carlos Rodon to the mound, who enters with a 14-7 record and 3.24 ERA. Rodon has been terrific of late, going 3-0 with a 2.41 ERA in his last 3 starts. 

For the White Sox, ex-Yankees Yoendrys Gomez will make his 4th start of the season. He’s enters 3-1 with a 4.73 ERA, however, Gomez is 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA in his 3 starts, but after spending most of his time in the bullpen role, I don’t expect him to go deep into this game. Gomez will need to be careful of players like Cody Bellinger, who has been locked in with a 1.136 OPS with 4 home runs over his last 12 games. Ben Rice is also swinging a hot bat with a 1.257 OPS with 5 homers in that same span. This Yankees lineup is starting to look like it did early in the season, and with Rodon pitching the way he is, Gomez and the White Sox could have their hands full in this one. Look for the Yankees to get to Gomez early on and cruise to victory in tonight’s matchup.
