New York Yankees vs Chicago White Sox Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 08/30/25

Don’t look now, but the New York Yankees are 15-6 since August 6th, which happens to be the best record in the majors over that span. New York is firing on all cylinders, averaging 6.3 runs per game while posting a 3.07 team ERA. This is what we expect from the Yankees, and tonight, they’ll look to win their seventh in a row as they send Cameron Schlittler to the mound. Schlittler is 2-2 with a 2.76 ERA, and in each of his starts this season, he keeps improving, which is a promising sign for the rookie. 

The White Sox offense has been productive, averaging 5.0 runs per game over their last 10, however they’ve struggled with a 5.42 team ERA in that stretch. Hoping to cool off the Yankees, Chicago will turn to Shane Smith, who enters with a 4-7 record and 3.87 ERA. Smith picked up his first win since July 6th in his last start, pitching seven scoreless innings against the Royals. Unfortunately for Smith, this Yankees team is far more superior than the Royals. I like the way Schlittler has been pitching when he takes the mound, plus the way this Yankees team is finally hitting the ball. Until they show signs of slowing down, I’m backing the Yankees to win big in this one.
