New York Yankees vs Houston Astros Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 09/03/25
Yankees vs Astros Pickswise Expert Predictions
Two of the AL’s traditional powers clash again on Wednesday as the New York Yankees face the Houston Astros. The Yankees took the first game of the series on Tuesday, 7-1, behind a great effort from Max Fried. The Yankees have now won 4 of their last 5 games, although most of those were against the White Sox, so make of that what you will. The Astros continue to sit comfortably ahead of the Mariners in the AL West, holding to a 3-game cushion. On Wednesday, I look for the Yankees to stay hot, and my Yankees vs Astros prediction is the Yankees on the Money Line.
The pitching matchup is Will Warren vs Jason Alexander (we’ve all heard your Seinfeld jokes by now, so save it). Warren has been a steady force for the Bombers, although a couple of his recent starts have been plagued by defensive miscues behind him. He will be seeing the Astros for the first time though, and that should give Warren the advantage. Alexander, on the other hand, just saw the Yankees a few starts ago. He only gave up one run—a solo shot to Judge—but the bats could get the better of him this time around. He has been fantastic since coming over to the Astros, but I am deeply suspicious that his success is not sustainable. I like Warren a bit better than Alexander in the early innings, and I like the Yankee lineup a lot better than the Astros, especially the way each team has been hitting lately. This seems like a great spot to back the Pinstripes at a good price.
